RENNtech for the Mercedes.
[QUOTE=TurboTuner;2182777]Did a search and didn't come up with much info.

I have a '04 SL55 and I'm thinking of doing some performance mods.

What can you guys recommend thats reliable and proven for HP increase? Also where should I look on the net to find these performance mods.

Also interested in lowering the car. I've done lowering links on my Cayenne Turbo with Air Suspension without problems. But will it pose a problem using lowering links on a SL55 with the hydraulic suspension?

Thanks in advance to anyone that can advise.[/

Greetings Bob Brady at RENNtech,

I own a 2005 SL55 AMG and am interested in some Renntech engine and exhaust upgrades.
What do you recommend that is "Most Bang For The Buck" for the SL 55?

RENNtech for the Mercedes.

For the SL55, would suggest our Package 3 which is a ECU upgrade,
larger crankshaft pulley kit, and our headers $8,695

installation time is about 9hours @ $120 per hour.

This would bring you to 568 HP and 596 torque.

Wow, thats convincing from Renntech...

The Renntech pulley is 168 mm, and increases over stock boost by 2 PSI. (Stock boost is 0.9 bar, 12.6 PSI.)

The Renntech headers are made from stainless steel, and you dont have to remove the primary cats to install it.

This dyno chart is an E55 with Renntech pulley, headers and VRUS TB; tuned by Renntech.
Octane: 91 Union 76 gasoline

Yes I know I just bought the car and the wheels/tires. I am now selling the new wheels and tires I just bought. See the thread above for details. Need to sell the wheels asap. Selling the car, I might pick up a S550 or a CLS55/63 now.

I have a 2007 SL55 which came with a Kleeman upgrade - an after-market add on which I think is sanctioned by Mercedes. It makes a significant increase in horsepower - which varies depending on the level of the Kleeman upgrade you choose. As I recall there are 4 levels. http://www.kleemann.dk/performance.aspx
