Do I have a Major Transmission Problem?

While driving home on the highway, doing about 60, I hit the gas to get a little bit of an acceleration rush, and shortly after, the car abruptly down shifted and when I let off the accelerator the car was like it shifted into Neutral. I had to pull off the road, put the car into Park and then I could drive off again and the car seemed to shift normally. I was in the comfort mode and not using the shifters on the wheel and my acceleration burst was mild.

What is up with that.

Anyway has anyone had experience with this problem and is there better approaches to take with the dealership, the car is still under warranty, but I don't have a warm and fuzzy dealer.

I had that happen once with my old S600, but it never recurred. The folks at RENNtech later told me it was a known software issue with the tranny computer, not anything mechanical.

Any mods on the car? If not, you should take it to the dealer. Any error codes?
