I have seen some SL 55's with the SL 65 bumper, is that just a straight conversion and no modificiation. Just wondering

I think it was probably the 030 performance Package bumper. It looks just like the 65 bumper.

I have an 07 SL55---the cost to switch to the SL 65 bumpers was about $5,000 Cdn $. Need different brackets and fog lights. Suggest you use the 3M film on the replacement bumper as the aftermarket paint very prone to chip.

Look a like wheels to mirror the 65(in silver) available quite reasonably at Tire Rack
