2003 S500 4-matic, 2003 SL55
PO number ?
Waiting for a SL55 for January delivery. The salesman sent me a copy of his netstar printout showing the car and all the options (codes) I ordered including the total price of the car. I asked him why the vin# was 00000 he said that the car is not givin a vin till its half way built but I have the PO#(ten digits)which shows its my car and not to worry. I am still a little bit suspect and concerned. Does anyone know, or heard of a PO number?

I am waiting for a February delivery, and my dealer tells me it is too early to provide me with this data? Is he screwing me?

I doubt it because it maybe a few more weeks before that dealer will be allocated your car and P.O. #. Just because one person has his info. on a Jan. car, doesn't mean that the Feb. cars have been allocated yet. I would not worry for a week or so, then start to be suspicious!

Sounds about right - I needed my VIN number to discuss de-restriction with AMG and this was not available until a few weeks before delivery.
I have the car and it was ready about two week before the original estimated delivery date.

Agree with that, my car arrived earlier than I expected and it does look like Bremen are into their stride now.
It's also possible that a combination of a dire German economy and the initial demand satisfied there is freeing up production capacity for other markets, so hopefully you guys waiting for your cars will not be disappointed and may even be surprised!
