SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: Passed on the CL63 - SL65 too fun & too fast

Passed on the CL63 - SL65 too fun & too fast
Well I made the run down to the dealer and to be honest I was totally open and was going to let my decision be made by my gut.
The CL63 is an amazing car. The luxury factor is pretty much off the charts and you really do feel as if you are in a future prototype due out in 2010 but the wood, leather and ergonomic design keeps it from being cold and too techy. While the outer design took quite a while to grow on me, not to mention an AMG kit, the car does look mean. I wouldn't go as far to cal it a "head turner" but I like it much more than when it premiered. I would call it more of a head turner for the people in the know. For the size and weight of the car it drove great. That great balance of comfort and sport felt great. The only thing that left me flat was the power and out of all the things I can over look this isn't one of them. Yes, the power was there but it was a good deal behind my old K1 CLS55 and was a mile behind my SL65. I'm not up on 63 mods but I know there is no pulley ECU option here to put me where I need to be. The car felt like it was crying for more torque. When I drove back home in my 65 I was in a totally different level of power and just couldn't give it up for the "new benz on the block".
I think this CL body will be in service for a while and picking up a used CL65 in the future might be more of an option.
P.S. Killed a Carrera S and a Shelby mustang on the drive home which made me feel even better about my decision.
