Looking
Wheels/Tires for the SL 65

I've searched and read through some of the old threads, but I really haven't come away with any firm recommendations regarding wheel and tire combos to maximize traction on the 65. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,
David

To maximize traction you're going to want a wider wheel. Also, keep in mind drag radials will provide the best traction but the largest drag radial available is 18" in diameter.

I think you will see the absolute best traction possible with a set of wide 18" rims, mainly in the rear, and a set of BFG drag radials.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Hi Aaron,
Very interesting stuff, but I was speaking of street wheels/tires. I suspect that you knew this, based on your

for the SL65, if you wanted to drop down to 18's the BF drag Radials are available in 295/35 18 which will fit onto a 18x10-10.5 rim with no problem.

If you would like to stick with 19's which i would suggest just from an aesthetic perspective, the PS2 are available in 285/30 295/30 and also 305/30 19.

I think a light weight forged 19x9 and 19x10.5-11 paired with the PS2's would make a great combination for you.

The RENNtech monolites are available in 19x9 and 19x10.5, the competition series from HRE is another great option.

Give me a call or pm for pricing details.
