In the UK in the 60's and 70's it was common that owners would put a sticker on the car "Running in - Please pass" for the 1st 1000 miles. It was usually to indicate the engine rev's were being kept below 2500 until the engine was run in...I suspect even keeping the 55SL below 4000 revs (which I pretty much did) would still be impossible to pass me...thus "Running in - Please try ro pass".
