The only videotaped 1/4 mile SL65 vs Gallardo I've seen was my own runs, and the Gallardo was running consistent mid-12s. That's not near enough to keep up with a stock SL65, much less mine.

Are there vids of the later G-cars? I expect the superlights will be fairly quick; I just don't see many Gallardos at the track.

hi from neighbor

Greetings! I am in Weekawken. I do go by Edgewater once or twice a week. I go to Mitsuwa occassionally. If you ever see an Aegean blue stock SL, that's probably me;-)

I beat a Gallardo? Guess it was stock. Treynors 65 would destroy any stock Gallardo's, but his 65 is not stock. I think the 65's can get sick and run poorly due to failed pumps and heat soak etc. In the 1/4 mile the Gallardo is going to lose to several amg models. Around an oval, a road course or perhaps some high speed rolls may produce a Gallardo victory. Why all the personal attack in this thread?

Hopefully 65 owners will get some nice upgraded pumps and intercoolers so the cars can utilize that tremendous power plant,

have a great Sunday

Awesome , your friend has great taste in automobiles.

You will need to post something as the backlash from what transpired today will certainly shed some reality on the Gallardo, Benz matchup..

man oh man this is getting good brah

Gallardo SL will not have a problem with a modified Cl600.

We will get video of the Gallardo vs ClS63. Even with your numbers from what is claimed to be the fastest CLS in the U.S. I ran a 12.45@116mph at a D/A level of 3500 in AZ. Ive also only run my car 4 times.

My car is stock , I was under the impression we were talking stock vs stock which IMO a drag race would be very close and entertaining.

My best at altitude is 13@107 with a 1.69 60 ft.
DA=4900
corrected to seal level 12.3@114

Your car is faster but not by enough to guarantee a win. I think I could stay close . As far as your CL600 comment the proof is in jasons vid. His modded CL600 is faster than your Gallardo by a wide margin

You ran a 12.4 not an 11.89. We are talking your car vs mine.

I know from experience I can keep up, and its not difficult. We just took down the Gallardos big brother on the 101/170 merger. The CLS is fast and is the fastest 4 door coupe on the planet Earth

Had a good run last night with my friend at the wheel of his M5 and can conclude it makes a mess of the Gallardo on the highway.

Even the official figures put the top speed of the 492bhp Gallardo at a drag limited 192mph and the 513bhp variant at 196mph. The M5 is rated at 204mph.

Also, remember the Gallardo engine is a current Audi 4.2 L V8 (featured in Audi's S4, A6, A8, and Q7 models) with two extra cylinders added and a slightly smaller bore diameter. The E60's V10 is a ground up specialist engine.

Yes the Gallardo weighs less (3,450lbs vs. 3990lbs) and will beat it in the 1/4 or through the twisties but above 100mph on the highway, I wouldn't be so dismissive unless you're driving the SLR.

new balance
all u need to do is ask the Lambo owners from this weekends exotic rally in NJ how the M cars pull up top, I can tell you they wont have the same attitude, oh and they have a new found respect for Mercedes Benz as well A great weekend with real enthusiasts and real drivers.

On the dyno stock m6 made 420rwhp, weighs over 550lbs more, barely made 300ft lbs of torque. Stock M5/M6 is speed limited.

Video 40-170mph. M5 gets the jump each time.

I massacared a gallardo in my stock 65 on PCH and evenly kept up with the murcie in my cls63. IMO, The gallardo is a poor mans lamborghini, Its a nice girl car but I think I'd probably like it better if it had audi emblems on it cause thats what it really is.
