I just bought a used 2004 SL55 AMG that had some upgrades on it already when I bought it and I cannot figure out how to set up the bluetooth with my blackberry pearl. Will I be able to do this with my phone or not? I don't really no anything about Mercedes as this is my first one and I would like to know some of the cool tricks about it also. Thanks in advance for the info.

Does it already have the bluetooth module in the center console?
It will be a black plastic box with a little blue light. If it is in there,
unclip it to read the sticker on the back. There will be a pairing
code. Remember that code. Then reinstall the unit, and turn on
the car. Then press the blue light/button and hold it for three
seconds, until the blue light comes on and stays on. Then you
can pair it with your phone. When pairing you will need the code
from the back of the module that you took down earlier. Best of
luck.

Thanks for the info. I got it to work but I had to file down the plastic around the connection for the module because I couldn't get it to connect. And now that I have that all worked out I have another question. When I call someone they can't hear me very well or sometimes not at all. What am I doing wrong?

It may be the microphone in your car. Some of the other
guys had said their mic's were not good. Mine is decent
at best. With the roof up its not a problem for people to
hear me, but with the roof down, forget it.

I know what your blue tooth problem is. MB obviously has a contract with motorola. I have it in both of my sl's. There are only certain models that are compatible with the MB system. Blackberry was not one of them the last time I got a new phone I checked (3 months ago). If you go to your MB owners page on the main mercedes website, there is a link there with a number you can call.

Hope this helps. Any other ?'s you can give me a pm.

..
I just talked with an MB tech 2 days ago about this.......I have an '04 SL55 and I bought a bluetooth and i have an iphone. It picks up my phone book but more often than not it says phone not connected. The tech worked on it for 3 days at the dealer, and while MB cars typically work with motorola and LG only, my iphone did work sporadically and it did pick up my phone book so it is compatible. The problem with it not working too consistently is just a matter of the system not being offered in MB until recently and then suddenly your trying to backtrack into a 3 or 4 year old car. As of this morning my phone book works, but no connection even though my phone shows a full signal....its just awkward.
