SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: Dealership says I don't have an intercooler
I placed that query on this board with one of the members suggesting that I'm having problems with my super charger intercooler.
I past that potential problem to the dealer, and don't get me wrong the dealer has been great, I did not purchase the car from them and it is the only supercharged V8 in the area so they are not familiar with the car.
The mechanic, great guy, said that the computer said that valve case needs to replaced and that only turbo charged cars have intercooler and supercharged cars do not.

That's not my understanding, also he was not familiar with the supercharger chutch. I have complained that the supercharger is hard engaging to try and get the updated chutch to get rid of the innoying super charger chirp.
Again I don't feel pissed with the dealer because they have been more than supportive, but here are my questions.
1.What is the valve case and what problems do it cause
2.Confirm that the SL55 has an intercooler and can it be the problems with shifting and coming up on Star diagnostic as a valve case.
3.Will replacing the valve case include a new supercharger chutch and remove the chirp.
4.Also anyone know of a good way to get warranty to replace the chutch to get rid of the chirp.
Thanks
Here's a blurb from that MB page:
Engine AMG-built intercooled supercharged 5,439-cc SOHC 24-valve 90° V-8. High-pressure die-cast alloy cylinder block.
Your tech is giving Newfie's a bad name!
He's probably right about the valve case.
Intercooler problem is generally reflected as a lack of power related to IC pump failure.
I highly doubt the valve case issue is gonna' get you a new SC clutch.
