I'm not going to replace my 06 Sl55pp with this but it could be a fun 2nd car. Is any one else considering this car also or have any current news to share? Thanks in advance.

When I asked for a copy of the bill they gave it to me with an "at MSRP plus market adjustment" and lied to me that I'd get it at MSRP. I had to pull both deposits because after talking to the owners of the dealership they are going to be marked up by about 15 grand.
It will be an all wheel drive twin turbo 3.8l V6 car, weight should be at about 3,500lbs. Expected 450-480hp. Sequential (probably dual clutch) manual tranny/paddle shift. Lots of carbon fiber. I'm a big fan of it and have always loved the R32-34 Skylines.
Its a cheaper alternate to a 911 Turbo. Supposed to run the 'Ring at least as fast if not faster than 997TT. Now that I look at it, I'd rather just get a used 911TT (I'll probably wind up getting a 996TT and mod it like crazy). Still, the Skyline GT-R should be a great performance car but dealership markups are going to kill it for the first year or so just like the Shelby GT500's...

I had deposits down at 2 dealerships for the new Nissan GT-R. I was #1 at one and #2 at the other.

It's going to be a BEAST! I have been waiting for this car for a long long long time. Interior and exterior is very up to date and edgy, may take a lil getting used to, but honestly its going to be really really sick. I doubt I will replace my SL55 with this, but I really can't wait for this car to be out!
Should be easily tuned to well over 600 without upgrading the turbos. Hopefully this will be my next toy whenever it does come out.

Nyone know what other color options will be available?
I have seen nissan 350z's with athis maroonish red color (like barolo red for benzes) an dit looks so great on that car.. especially iwth gun metal colored rims..
This GTR with that maroonish red color and iwth those stock gun metalish rims with 5%tint would look so sexy.
i wnat one.. maybe in a 4-5 years

You name it i've had it or got it...
yes...i have contemplated buying a r34 before...just didn't want to do it because i didn't want to get stuck with it and have buyers remorse. this car enables me to get in it and out fairly easily if i choose to. i have a feeling i will buy it and keep it for a while. i have called 4 dealerships and will have the number 1 spot at one of them...very weird that none of them are taking deposits...but they said they will once they get official pricing. i am going to get a white one with black interior....i don't know which will be the top model...there is the base, premium and black model. not sure if the black or the premium is the top. i think the looks are decent and will grow on me...i am mainly going to buy it for the performance. word was that they are building the motor with a forged crank and forged pistons etc from the factory. i know on the old r34 engine it wasn't unheard of to get 1000hp out of the stock motor. so if the rumors are true this engine will be even more capable!!! best part of this car is how cheap it is to mod it....stock will be fun but modded...omg imagine the possibilities!!!

oh yeah and i have owned 2 997 turbos recently....i still have the vert. porsche's are by far my favorite all around car. performance of a turbo Porsche is unparalleled....until this car. if this car drives anything like the porsche (which they claim it is better)...it will be unreal

I'm really thinking about getting one too. And of course modding it! Haha...

I agree. Many articles mention a 550hp version with carbon fiber which sounds like one hell of a base car for mods. Looks like we can look forward to several more Fast & Furious competitors on the road. I can see the neon lights and stickers already.

no stickers in this cars future...at least by most. still out of the ricers price range...but every once in a while they will slip through the cracks...

After seeing that picture of the SL55 with SLR nose and V8 Kompressor and V12 Bi-Turbo badges on the sides with Carlsson, Brabus, RennTech, and Kleeman on the back...it wouldn't suprise me one bit to see a riced out GT-R. Though it should be rare and like RBtronnie5 said, out of ricer $ range.
