[HPDE] Anyone track their SL65???

My dad has a 2006 SL65 that gives him all kinds of problems everytime we go to the track. ABC shuts off, ESP shuts off, roll bar pops up, and today he had brake issues (although we determined that was the result of boiling the brake fluid).

The last 2 track days have been disasters...the dash lights up with tons of warning messages.

Has anyone else used their car for road couse events...and if so, have you ever had any of these issues?

He's looking to do some Renntech upgrades, but if the current electrical gremlins are going to cause havoc at the track, than he probably shouldn't bother.

Any info would be appreciated....

Thanks!

I track my SL55 and the only problem I experienced was a bit of brake fade. But once I switched to a better Brembo set up, the brake fade went away.

SL65 is a bit heavy for the track.

How hard is he driving it?

Brakes will overheat and need to be updated to Brembos with track pads.

What kind of warning messages is he getting?
