so what do you guys recomend? im fairly ignorant to the R230, other then the SC probblems on the early 55s.

I believe they all come with SAT/NAV, so that shouldn't be an issue.

Parktronic is a parking sensor, both front and rear.

Keyless go is great. You start the car with a button on the shifter.

The 12cyl Mercs traditionally depreciate like rocks, so they can be had at good prices. The chassis set up and lighter weight of the 55 make it more of a driver's car. Both are very tunable, but the 600 has more power waiting in the wings.

Tell your dad to drive both and then decide.

keyless go is so damn convenient...pano roof is nice to have....

if you plan to mod it...get the 600. if you want it stock get the 55. hard part is finding a 600 with sport...because you have to have that at a minimum

Tell him to get a 600 with AMG package and he will be a happy camper.

If he wants "wet your pants" acceleration, have it chipped.

Gotta tell him to make sure to try to get as much warranty left on it that he can. Hear lots of stories how the 600's and the shop are gooooood friends.

indeed this has always been the case with v12s ibelive they are famous for it. U hear all the tuning ablities of the 600 motor and u tend to cream your pants.... but then you hear all the stories of it not been as dependible, or if something goes wrong you will be paying lots of $$$.

now what i ask is is this true or mostly urben legend?

Many of the dealers will tell you that. 12 cylinders drop fast.

Parktronic and keyless go are sick! I got em and I love it!
I would go with the 55, its a different car than the 600. 600 is the same as a 500 with regards to everything except the engine. But I do love both!
