Im getting a little tired of seeing black SL55 like mine all over houston. I ate dinner tonight at Mortons, 2 other black SL55 after on saturday night there were 5, yes 5 SL55 at Bobs Chophouse 3 were black, 1 silver, 1 red. Im thinking of doing some completely outrageous color, I saw a pic on here of a pink SL55, a mary kay car i think. Im not brave enough to do that, but I have a few colors in mind, I definately want something unique, Im looking for any and all pics you've got. Im open to any ideas about color, I was thinking something bright bright.

you could be like 50 cent and get your car chromed. i'm sure you're probally not going to run into someone with the same sl55. i mean i'm joking but i'm sure it would be pretty awesome lol

Buy an Audi R8 if you want something different.

There are just to many AMG cars out there to be special.

I don't think a unique colour is going to make your car stand out as any better then the rest.

If you want to be exclusive, get an exotic

R8's are not that expensive, i'm sure in a year or so we'll see tons of them on the road...

Speak for yourself there's only one black and one white r230 in my entire county.

Although not a bright color, here's the (hard to find) Designo Graphite color.

That is horrible looking and the owner was crazy to not take the top bid for it.

The SL's are everywhere now and it is only going to get worse as the price comes down more. I live in the sticks, back woods town. Until I bought my SL55 I had NEVER not once seen an SL55 here on the road not EVER. As a matter of fact I had never even seen a SL500 around here. Now I am seeing at least one a day, 4 yesterday. When people around here can afford used high end cars I know the price is about to come out of the bottom of the car.

While I agree that $112,000 is a generous offer for any pre owned SL65, not everyone has the same repugnance towards yellow I'd buy it for my Atlanta home if it were a SL55 (and at my price).

that's tectite right? that's a very nice color...the first SL I looked at from the dealership was that color and I haven't seen but maybe one or two that color since...

Yellow on a sports car is great and fairly commonplace, on a GT car like the SL it's very unique, unlike say Ferrari, lambo etc...

We had that on our CLS AMG. It was a stunning color.

MB had some issues at one point finding and fixing a problem with my SL65. They offered me huge money to "take me out of the car" but I refused their money because I love the car and the ultra rare color... One of only 3 ever built in Black Opal Metallic(Midnight Metallic Blue)I am told...

About 2 years ago I researched and discovered that out of 98 SL65s offered for sale nationally.... 51 were silver , 44 were black and only 3 were in other colors (grey,red,white,blue etc).

So doing the math using those numbers, in the US you basically have less then a 1% chance of finding a used SL65 in a specific color other then silver or black.... The numbers are just a slightly better for the SL55 because there are more of them maybe a 3% chance....
