2007 SL for $20k off msrp
dang...this is amazing. no wonder MB resale going down the tubes. i saw flyer today and also heard it on the radio from another MB dealer. remember this, in 1997 SL500 was $99k MSRP and in 1998 they dropped the MSRP to $79k. now, 10 yrs later the 07 SL550 is $99k less $20k...back to Fall 1997 prices.

'08 SL is dead from a marketing standpoint (sales figs are pathetic)...thus the need for another facelift so soon....and desperate need for an SLxx Blk to wake up mkt and generate profits....
But all cars have had deflationary pricing for past 10-15yrs....?'90 SL500 was selling at a premium upon launch at $100K+....consider 2-3% annual inflation; much lower interest rates/better 2-3yr lease terms of today....and much better perf/safety/useability of today's new MBs vs dark ages of '90...and one could argue today's cars are all incredibly cheap/disposable....sort of like upscale iPods/smartphones.....
