when you test drive it, and you like the power.. get it!! all other stuff, no worries, its got factory mercedes warranty, whats there to worry about, 600s are not as bad as some people thinks it is, i look at it as a amg even though its not, for 60k, i paid 60k for a 03 e55(like a dumbazz), but good price for that car too

I was in your shoes a month or so ago, a disbeliever in the 600 compared to the 55 (SL) and after test driving both the SL55 and the SL600 I can tell you-- forget what you've heard; go out and test drive both cars.

I gaurantee you will walk away with the 600 in mind.

Must be the most rain we have had in 18 months here in the OC.
Supposed to be nice this weekend. Drive it on Sunday and do the 133 or the 241. Listen for the sound off the K-Rail`s and do the deal and drive them down for the little issues you can find. See you at the TJ meet on Cinco De Mayo with the Black Beast.

Well, a few of us faced that decision and reached a very different conclusion but I wholeheartedly support the advice you give, namely to test drive the car or cars at length before buying.

The Brabus car in particular should be terrific as long as it wasn't beat to pieces by the previous owner and the mechanic's inspection should reveal any problems there.

Perhaps I like the softer ride with low-end torque. I don't know, but the SL55 needed, in my opinion, refinement. Too rough, too noisey... a bit too in your face.

In any case, RedMongoose, the decision should not be made by the opinions of forum members but rather by the joy you get from driving both vehicles-- do keep in mind, we wont be driving your car. I guess in closing the final thing to say is, RedMongoose you CANT go wrong with either

YAY! we got it! so Fing fast! it is such a great car. the brabus makes it another beast. i got her up to 110 alredy, and she feel so stable. ill have some pix up tomorrow! the 230 feels so much more refined compared to the 129. my father loves it, he has not really been in to fast fast cars, so he calls this "scary fast" teh TQ is fantastic, and easy to drive in traffic.

Congrats - I too agree that you made a great choice. Only problem is that now that you have bought it, there are no longer any of it's pic up over at Autotrader..... so we can't go back over there and look at it every once in a while. Oh well, I guess we can wait (a bit) for your pics.
