Changing the oil
I picked up my '06 SL55 two weeks ago with 24,600 miles and I cannot stop from grinning. It is one sweet ride. The other day, I was checking the oil level and it is down by one quart. I bought a quart of Mobil 1 and was about to add it when I noticed the oil that was splashed underneath the filler cap was dark. The car computer shows that Service B is not due until another 9600 miles.
I want to change the oil myself. Has anyone attempted to do so? If so, can you give me some details? I tried to search for this topic on this forum but could not find the "search" button.

Haven't done an oil change myself yet. There are two semi-related posts here:And here:According to my All Data subscription, the SL55 requires 9 quarts; 8.5 if you don't change the oil filter.
