2006 SL55 with 030 Performance Package
Any updates for 2004 sl55?
Does anyone know of any major updates or upgrade for the SL55 for model year 2004? I have a Feb. 03 delivery date and want to know if I should order this one and take it or wait for the next one to see if it gets the dvd nav. or maybe a different transmission like a 6 speed auto.

And then what happens when you hear about the mid-life makeover like the S/CL have just had? Do you delay again or what?
Truth is, you can sit on the fence forever, waiting for the next great enhancement to come along. This car is so good that you should get it and enjoy it as soon as you can. DVD navigation and a different transmission are not going to materially improve the car when there is so much new to appreciate and enjoy already.
If I were you, I'd jealously guard your existing delivery slot.
I have my name down with my dealer for what we're calling "the face-lifted R230", no dates but let's say 2005/2006. Difficult to see how much better it can be though.

I have heard about DVD navigation. As a matter of fact I am going to be getting a 500 TE (estate) in April an they confirm it to be fitted with the new navigation system.
Apart from that, I only hear rumors:
6 gear shifting: how about torque?
light beams that turn with curves: back to the future of 1960 Citroen

I am going to take the Feb 03 delivery!
I test drove one a month ago, and I was so impressed that you are correct I can not wait, who am I kidding!!
I have to make my selections by Nov. 27th
I think its going to be Silver with Charcoal Leather Black Birdseye maple wood. 5 Spoke AMG wheel
