Starting an SL55 with a flat consumer battery and keyless go?

Hello all

I am new here. My brother has lent me his SL55 for a few months while he is away. It took a few weeks for the insurance to come through, and in that time the battery in the boot went flat. He only left me with the keyless go card, and I can't start the car even though the starter battery is fine. Worse, I can't open the boot to charge the battery. I assume the lock is electronic.

I have done a bit of research, and it seems that with the "proper" key I could start it, but that the keyless go system runs off the consumer battery in the boot. My bro' is somewhere up a mountain in foreign parts so I can't get the key very easily. Does anyone have any suggestions of how I could either start the car or open the boot? Otherwise I have a very expensive high performance sculpture, which isn't really what I had planned.

Any help much appreciated!

Cheers

Rob

The key fob for keyless go has a latch on the side to release a built in key. This key should open the trunk and the drivers door. With the drivers door open you should be able to open the hood with the release by the drivers knee.

its depends on the year, I have and 03 and it didn't come with the hard key built into the keyless go remote. I think they started the combo in '05 because of situations like this.
