SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: Longevity and maintenance on SL 55 vs. 550

Longevity and maintenance on SL 55 vs. 550
Thinking of buying a used 2007 SL 550. I like the paddle shift, higher HP than 500 and black leather. Really don't care for charcoal.
Been to AMG driving school and really love the SL 55 but figure for long term reliability, as this will be a daily driver, that the 550 should be more reliable and less costly at high mileage. While I love the sound, suspension and HP of the 55, the reality of everyday commuting in the Bay Area, CA means not a lot of opportunities to wind it up...
I know the debate of 55 vs. 550 vs. 600 rages but wondering peoples thoughts for a daily driver which is the way to go? Again, the paddle shifters and black vs. charcoal leather seems to crawl into my head.

You could probably get an awesome deal on a new 07/08 SL550 as I've seen on another member here posting. As far as reliability, it'll have the factory warranty but probably expect to see more shop time than your average boring Lexus. GL.
