Indeed:

...Though the SL 63 is a better car, the SL 55 had a charm its replacement lacks...
Just like the E55 and E63 or CLS55 and CLS63 I suppose.

I agree with the writer, it is not as good looking as the 2003-2008.

i still remember when i first got my SL55, i have had the wow feeling for days... maybe it's because i was replacing my previous CL with that....

but now if i replace my 55 with this 63, I don't think the same wow feeling will be there and even then i have to pay for a brand new SL but only having very little differences .. (differences, not improvements)..

i think even if i go for the 63, it's just for the sake of having the latest model, not really because i am very into the facelift ... i think the facelift looks great... but not good enough for existing owners like me to change..

The WOW, probably came from the fact that the SL55 was the first car that really started the German hp wars and that 500hp was a big number in '03. Now, that seems to be the baseline for performance cars.

..... And now that 500 hp is just ho hum, 525 is really nothing. The NA 63, will never replace the power delivery and character of the 55K cars. I can still remember cutting my teeth in performance driving in an 80 hp Fiat X1/9... and thinking it was fast.

I didn't like the new nose until I saw it as the F1 pace car last week, and I actually liked. Although not enough to replace my SL55 with it, but I would really like to attack a road course with that new gearbox!
