The rear-spoiler seems retractable.

Front bumper resembles the Safety Cars bumper.

Would guess a modified 65 motor would have 740lb-ft.....

Would guess MCT would be integral to SL Blk....doubt AMG would invest R&D to develop an MCT box for only SL63....

Vaguely recall reading an AMG engineer claim MCT is compatible w/up to ?525lb-ft....

Old-tech 65 motor would likely be awfully nose-heavy (65 motor is some 250lbs heavier than 63 motor), esp for a <4000lb track-oriented car that's being engineered for chassis precision and tq/traction balance, not just straight-line commuting tq....

Something doesn't add up here....

I for one don't want to see this car with the V12. A higher tuned version of the 6.2L V8 with 580+ hp and a torque rating not to high as to ensure the use of the MCT gearbox would be ideal IMO. This car should be a screamer with a slick drivetrain, not a SL65 light. I hope the magazines are wrong on this one.

+1 on the v12. I'd expect a light and high tech V8. And the 63 engine is their flagship party animal now. And the few spy video's ou there sound like a V8.

One problem though, without forced induction this car in 63 mode won't ever match the SLR experience.

To tell the truth I also expected the SLR engine (or the CLK DTM AMG engine, which is slichtly different).

In training earlier this week, the guy said it would be a SL63 black series. They are correct in that it will not have a retractable top (fixed roof coupe). He also said that as far as he knows, the new MCT transmission will only be in the SL63. He didnt really speak any further, so we'll just have to wait to hear more.

65 is still MB's flag ship not the 63. Plus regardless of tech it has and how old it is, power is power!!

I do not see the c6 or Zo6 been chanted away as low tech when they destroy things on the road
Quit frankly people would seriously go for the 65 if they could afford it. So far the 600 and 65 are the kings in the power field.

heck have you checked which engine the Zonda uses by any chance ?
