Any advice from someone smarter than myself would be nice.
I have 255/35R20's on the front of my SL, it seems that the screw and the nut that sits right under the fender well of my car is grinding into both of the tires on the inside. Now I am not sure if it has grinded as far as it will or am I in immediate danger of having my tires cut deeper based off of high speeds or sharp turns? I have not figured out yet if this is happening while I'm driving in a straight line distance or when I am making turns. I am wondering if I went to a 255/30R20 if that is an actual tire size I don't really know just yet I'll have to research it, will that allow enough clearance?? I used to run 245/35R20's in the front and had no problems. I was always under the impression that the nut and screw never would rub into the tire and remained stable as the car rode along Hmmm? Wrong answer, but what are these people doing when they lower their cars I cant understand how they are not rubbing or how their tires are not being grinded into, I have not lowered my SL yet. Well if U can help I would appreciate the comments, you all have really helped me out in the past to resolve my issues that's what makes this site so awesome thanks in advance I love You Guy's, Not really LOL.

The stock front tire is in a 19 inch is 255/35R19. If you are putting 255/35R20's on then your tire od is larger than stock and hence your rubbing problems. With the 19's you can lower it but with this size tire I'm not sure. If you have similarly oversized your rear tires your acceleration, handeling and speedo will have been affected. The stock rear 19 is 285/30R19.

SL stock tires have a 26.0" diameter. Tirerack shows diameters of 27.0" to 27.2" for 255/35R20s, which is a lot bigger. If you go with 255/30R20s you'll drop back down to 26".
