??? 2003 sl55 lowering on its own
whenever my car idles in PARK position for say 6 to 10 min or so the whole car drops dramatically to its lowest point this is with out driving. I don't have any abc fluid leaks or warning signs. Is this normal?

This seems to be common with the ABC suspension. There's a couple threads that discuss this problem. Do a search and you'll find good info. From what I remember, when the inner seals/valves go bad the system will leak inside the shock housing itself and no fluid will be visible from the outside. Have an MB tech check them out.

Thanks for the DTB jmf. Especially interesting to me since I just had my car to the dealer twice for similar issues. My symptoms were not as severe; after sitting overnight, I'd start the car, it would do a little dip in the right rear, then the "ABC - visit workshop" message would appear. If I restarted the car, the message would clear and the car would drive perfectly all day. I had no symptoms of the car lowering on it's own, but I didn't want to ignore the message. I took it in last week and they did the first item in the DTB, which is flushing the fluid and installing a new filter. The fault code was C1531 (008).The tech told me at the time he was 100% confident it would fix the problem ($850). The next morning, I started the car and the problem still existed. I took the car in again yesterday, and they replaced the right rear strut valve block ($2000). I haven't gone down and started it since I drove it home from the dealer yesterday, but believe me, my fingers are crossed.
