They might actually be correct on the pricing, given the fact that the CLK 63 BS is 150% more than the regular CLK 63 Cabrio, and when I punched in the numbrs, 150% of 200k (SL65's MSRP), it came out to be 300k. I'm calling my dealer tomorrow who knows Rob Allan quite well to get a pricing confirmation. Stay tuned.
My sense is pricing/trade-in values for AMG/F's (outside of "unusual" places like Woodside/Greenwich.....where buyers tend to prefer new (not used), decently-spec'd new copies of interesting models like SL63 030, S65, 599, Scud, etc) are being stressed in today's economy, anywhere....incl BH, Lond, EU, etc....

Absolutely stunningly gorgeous car in my opinion! I would love to own one. Now the question was posed at that price why not buy a Ferrari or Lambo? Exclusivity, plain and simple. If I am spending this type of money on a car, hell on anything, I want it to be an ultra rare occurrence of me running into someone having the same thing. I see a lot of Ferraris and Lamborghinis especially the Gallardo. How often have you seen SLR on the road? YOU, not your friends cousins uncles baby mama at the Vegas strip one time, you actually physically seeing it. Me I have only had the pleasure of seeing the car three times in my life, twice on the street, and once at a dealership. That's the kind of jaw dropping panty dropping experience I want to have when I am spending that kind of coin.

Many of you all seem to miss the point of high end automobiles.
By the time you are buying a 320K car, you probably have multiple cars including a Ferrari and a Lambo if you want one.
In many cases it is an AND situation not an OR situation. For many buying a 320K car or a 500K SLR OR A 1MM Veyron is not a case of gosh I have always wanted Ferrari or a Lambo and now I have to pick just one.
This car could make a great addition right next to a LP640 and a 599.....
The car is hot and I feel like it was designed to make me drool.

I personally think this car is one of the most amazing looking cars I have ever seen in my life. If you have the money, this really is an amazing addition to a collection.

2002 CLK 55 AMG Coupé
A gem! After seeing the C63 and SL63 face lift I was getting worried about AMG's styling department. But they pulled it off, big time.
The over-sized front fenders are just what the front end needed. And the bigger rear wheel diameter AND thicker rubber is almost cartoonish - like a kid's Hot Wheels. It's pure sex. Better than the CLK DTM!
Why take this car over the competition? 'Cause underneath it's a Benz! It will happliy spend it's life on the boulevard Or ripping up the 'Ring. I'm very pleased to see the air suspension ditched for coilovers. But I am disapointed you can't get the vario-roof. Screw the weight, you gotta play to the SL's strengths.
Oh well, I'll put a window in the roof and turn up the air con on those Barcalounger USA-spec seats. Switch on the massager and it'll do me fine.

Did any of you guys notice that AMG did a lousy job on the door's paint? The doors are the only part which is original MB, and it's too dark (compared to the other parts of the chassis). That's ridiculous.
