just came in right now to the center, a magma red/berry sl-55......the most stunning car I have ever seen. I think that is the best color combo out there.

can i just say we have a magma SL 320 the model before this and got told by the dealer that magma red knocks the trade in price by 3-5k!!!

thats one reason why so many people go for what MB UK dealers call the "safe colours" black or silver. There is a very small used car market for colours like red or white.
Even ignoring the extra cost when new, depreciation is even worse on the designo colours. For example there is a UK MB dealer with a special edition March 2001 500 SL (129 model) in designo mystic blue. 20,000 miles, £35,000 and they cant sell it. A bargain if you like the colour (which I do). If I was in the market for a 129 I would buy it.
