I just looked at some pictures, looks like the '07 grill is "blacked" out whereas the '05-'06 is silver?
Is this correct? I didn't realize there was a different until now.
Looks like they are cross compatible.

The 07 grill won't fit perfectly, you have to cut 2 tabs off the bottom IIRC (some guy did it in the SL non amg forum).
I was going to put my 07 grill from the 500 on the 55 but I couldn't manage to take it off...will have to try again soon.
