SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: Delivery timing question

Delivery timing question
My SL55 (black with berry) received a VIN number sometime during the last week of December. Questions:
1. If I have the VIN number is there a way to track the car? One can do that with BMW, but I'm not sure with Merc.
2. Approximately when will the car be delivered given that late December date?
I'm getting impatient!

First, nice to see you here (as opposed to 10 other boards
) - second, not sure if there's a public tracking system, but your dealer can give you updates. Nothing like what bmwusa.com offers, no.
As for delivery, it's got to be similar to BMW, ie 3-4 weeks on a boat, 1 week prep, 1 week shipping. My guess is 6-7 weeks - be happy, I'm 6 MONTHS out...
