Any members with Renntech SL55?

Just talked to an authorized Renntech dealer about Package 5 upgrade which does not include intercooler pump upgrade. The sales guy said if I don't run it hard I won't have to worry about it overheating. What's the point of doing Renntech upgrade if I don't enjoy all the power.

Back to the topic, has anyone done the upgrade without the intercooler pump?

I don't have the Renntech package 5 (ECU, pulley, SS headers, 78 mm throttle body, cf airbox) but I do have the same parts from other vendors (mostly VRP) plus a performance camshaft, all with stock cooling.

The car makes a lot of power and heatsoak hasn't been a problem, even when I'm running the car hard. That said, I'm sure the car would make even more power and be less susceptible to heatsoak if I installed aftermarket cooling. It just hasn't been a priority for me and it's something I can always install later.

As far as your decision goes, there really are no bad choices. Go with the package 5 and you'll have an incredibly strong car. Go with package 5 plus cooling and it'll be a bit stronger.

Hope that helps,

perfect answer. i have all the renntech mods and have the exact same feeling on the intercooler. if it ain't broke, no need to fix it until its necessary.
