A friend of mine called Kleemann abou thte option - 20k! That's right. What a waste of cash... Just pay for the SL55k kit and be done with it, IMO.

Use the money towards the Kleemann 55K upgrade! Imagine the looks you'd get when leaving 100 ft of rubber as you drive away!

I agree that this crosses the line of stupidity. But I wonder what does the 20k actually pay for. I mean, how much does it REALLY cost to remove doors and add gas-shocks and pivot points in place of standard hinges?

Currently because i am too young i do not have a decent grasp of money and such and the value of that much money but i can recognize that $20,000 is a lot for swinging doors now. Before i knew the price and even now, i still think those doors are super cool! I'm pretty sure they are automatic right? I would LOVE to do that to my dads car once i start earning my own money.

If this were standard (Diablo, SLR, etc) it would be cool and I would feel cool climbing out of such a car.

However to know that 'those in the know' realise you have paid a huge amount simply to have your doors open upwards would make me feel a bit of a dick climbing out of it.

My two penneth.
