SL55/SL600 or 996TT
All I am looking for some guidance here on the SL55/SL600 platform. I am in the market for a new "toy" and had been locked in on the 2001-2004 996TT platform, however with the ever declining market it seems 04-06 SL55/SL600's are in the discretionary funding budget as well.
I know the 996 will outhandle the SL all day long but I would like to hear so pro's and con's from current SL owners.
thanks in advance

Two totally different car: my SL55 gets driven more because it's a luxury cruiser with the drop top fun factor, whereas my '04 996tt is definitely german muscle car at its best. Drive both & own both for around $80K in this economy.

TT is more sports car than SL, SL is more power cruiser than TT. Both can be easily modded for insane HP.
Sad to see the resale $ of my SL55, right in the dumper. I'm not taking it too badly because I planned on keeping it for a long time when I bought it.
Unless you really want insane power, get a CPO 997C2S for about the same $. Latest Porsche styling and much more of a true sports car drive. Also plenty comfortable too. I used to like driving my C2S on the street more than the SL55, until I put race seats and 6 pt harnesses in it. Just a bit to restrained for street crusing.
