Ok so I finally found exactly the sl55 that I want for the right price, the only problem is that it is white, and has white lorinser rims + white body kit. Does anyone know how much it would cost to paint it all black(including rims and kit), and does that bring down the residual value of the car? If it does how much of a hit am I looking at. Also has anyone ever painted theres is there any other downside I should know about. Thanks again!

better search for a black SL
bleh I would but I can't seem to find an all black 2006 lorinser at a reasonable price. How expensive is it to do the installation on the lorinser rims, body kit, lowering. If i just buy stock black sl55?

Figure $10,000 to $15,000 for a first class paint job.
You can reduce the amount if you are willing to settle for a mediocre to poor finish or if you are willing to leave a lot of the nooks and crannies (e.g. engine compartment, trunk, etc.) in their original white color.
It's not really cost effective.

That seems like a good number at $15,000 but you will not get the Ceramiclear clear coat that you get from the factory. What you will get is paint that chips easily. Whoever said find a black one has the right idea. You can always get the Lorinzer body kit installed if you truly want to screw up the lines of the SL---your choice.Originally Posted by jmf003
