i just got my sl55 amg yesterday and few of my friends have c6 or z06 corvette s and they all wanna race with me now .it wont be a drag race most probablt a roll.i was wandering if i have a chance to beat z06.and what would happen if i race with stock c6 ls3(436hp)

you will see some video when the weather gets better.because we live in Turkey we dont really care about police or rules so we do race alot ıf you know what ı mean

just make sure they are actually stock...something that is non existent in the corvet world....

Not much of a chance. Best 1/4 mile times are high 10s for a stock C6 Z06, high 11s for a stock C6, and mid 12s for a stock SL55.

With a full slate of engine mods it's possible to get the SL55 down to low 11s and with NOS high 10s should be possible. However the same mods on a C6 will produce high 9s.

There's just no getting around the C6's 1,000 lb weight advantage.

Fair?? Not sure that concept applies here. You chose a hardtop convertible, high performance luxury GT car. They chose a lightweight high perfromance sports car. Yes, they will beat you in a straight line and around a road course (stock for stock)....but their cars will not have the apptitude for effortless...high speed luxury cruising...nor the cache' of rolling through town. Two different choices...with two kinds of enjoyment.

I think you have more than a fair chance against a stock C6, especially from a roll.

Z06 is a different story, are we talking C5 or C6? You could beat a C5 Z06 (stock), but a C6 would spank you.

eventhough i owned so many cars from so many brands i ve never owned an sl merc before .because i love fast cars it had to be an amg i only drove it 10 miles yesterday from the dealer to my garage i loved the torque it has .so when the weather gets better i know i am gonna spend great time with my new toy.

Well, that's the way to "beat" your friends with the C6s; don't race them but take them for a ride and let them enjoy the view!
