SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: Oil dip stick and Trand fluid dip stick

The red cap at the back of the SC is for the oil. The trans filler is located behind the passenger side valve cover. You need to purchase the two dipsticks from the dealer if you want to manually check the levels.

2006 Dodge Viper, 2006 SL55
Does anyone here know where I can purchase both dipsticks and their respective part numbers for an '06 SL55? I contacted the local MB dealership and based on my VIN number, told me that these were dealer-serviced items and were not available for purchase. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Trans is # 140 15 21. This has a hot and a cold level.
For the oil, make your own. Use a piece of semi rigid cable or something similar. Your oil is full when it is 6.7" up from the bottom of the pan. Cheaper than the $50 dipstick the dealer wants.

OK, I have both sticks, took a while to get back wih the info.
oil is 120-0721
and trans is 140-1521
I assume these are Benz #s. but they came from Baum Tools, Sarasota, Fl

Thought 6.7" was a tad high
I just checked mine and the computer said oil level was OK and the dip stick was at 120mm (4.7").
Now I guess I'll have to dump the oil and check how much at what level on the stick.

Ridiculous that my does not provide something so simple. A dipstick with Min max markings.
Called the dealer- $160 for the mb "universal" stick that they use to check all mbs. STU PID.

Yes, and thanks for pointing this out. I called braun and ordered one. Just seems really odd to mess with the single most vital maintenance item in a car (although 99% of users probably don't even to check the oil). A car runs on gas and insurance payments, right?
