have an 03 sl 500 with the 5 speed trans,have kleeman s/c headers x pipe eisenmann ex,had kleeman tcu upgrade to sl55 specs but 1-2 shift sucks bad,like half a sec on 0-60 kills et,any other options,i know of a company that sells solenoids for 1-2 shift but he says he doesnt know if it will solve problem,could be computer pulling timing and or closing throttle a little,I had heard these trans have a torque protection limiter on them for 1-2 shift ? can anyone help or advise a fix ?

Dino...is there an adaptive process on SL55 (engine/tranny ecu or otherwise...)? I don't know if the SL500 adapts depending on driver, I know some cars do that...is the SL55 the same way?

Yes AMG engine/transmission and ECU all work in concert and does have adaptive learning.
I re set everything,had benz do it with the star,need another option,I heard there is a solonoid kit for the 1-2 shift from southern hot rods, wanted to know if anyone has used this kit
