Does anyone have current manheim auction prices for 03-04 sl55 and 03-05 sl500. Thank you to anyone who can provide them.

I'm always curious to know why everyone asks for Manheim auction prices. In reality they don't reflect the current state of the retail used car market. A used car dealer is going to charge what the market will bare and what they think they can sell the car to you for (read maximum profit). In most cases it's well above the Manheim price because auction cars are sold in volume, in panic, at hugely discounted prices to white shoe, white tie, gum chewing cigar smoking wholesale flippers without regard to the cars true value or condition. Also, you will find that higher-end cars are usually traded-in or arrive at the dealer from sources other than Manheim. JMHO.

A much better assessment of the cars actual value and what you should pay for it is the True Market Value (TMV) found on the Edmonds.com site.

 

I totally understand what your saying but I am not interested what the current market value is... If i was i could easily just search on such sites as autotrade ect. I was asking what the current manheim auctions are for sl55's because i plan to buy an sl55 at a manhiem auction. I am just waiting for a friend to return from overseas so take me to the auction to pick one up.

 

Makes sense to me, I also ihave a friend who will buy a car for me at Manheim but, I'm very wary of the high performance cars that are sold there. There is usually a hidden reason why the dealer if "offing" the car.

IMO, get a chrystler aftermarket warranty and go for the older 55 amg... 2 totally different cars.
