Parts used for SL55 Brake Jobs
My SL55 currently has around 27K miles on it, and I know that the brake job is coming up on it as they usually need replacement at around 35K miles, maybe sooner.
I consulted a local repair shop about getting the brake job done and I need to either go with the parts they suggested or choose my own. They suggested the following
1X Brake Pad Sensor PEX 211 540 17 17
1X Brake Pad Set from the Akebono EURO Ceramic Series w/Shims
2X Brake Disc ZIM 230 421 07 12
Are those the proper parts and the best brakes for such a machine? I want to make sure I'm getting at least what the original factory brakes are, and only better from there.
Thanks!

Why doesn't your shop just order OEM parts. The discs are ~$110 each, and I think the pads are around $250. There isn't a point to skimp on this.

My 55 has a pending brake job as well. The only thing I hate about OEM brakes is the amount of brake dust in the front. Have newer OEM pads resolved this or do I have to move to another high performance set of pads.

I agree, shelling out the cash now will benefit you later, go with Benz Parts, always a sure bet when it comes to replacing components. The only way I'd go with non-benz parts would be if I was upgrading the braking system. Best.
