Hardtop weather-stripping... how to maintain?
Is there a way to stop the roof from going up or down long enough to apply protectant to the weather-stripping surfaces of the hardtop? Some surfaces are only visible when the roof is half-way between up and down.

thanks, but my question wasn't what to use, but rather how to stop the roof half way to give me enough time to apply protectant to the weather-stripping.
When pausing the roof, it pauses but then folds back down after only a couple seconds.
Also, not sure vaseline is the best stuff to use as it is petroleum based. I use Shin-Etsu Silicone grease, commonly used on weather-stripping for soft top convertibles. About $15 for a large 6 oz. tube, but it lasts forever. Only need to apply a very light coating.

thanks... that did the trick! Glad it did it, the rubber gaskets looked a bit thirsty.
Also, that Shin-Etsu silicone grease is amazing stuff.

Where to buy the Shin-etsu silicone grease? That's good for the weather stripping and rubber bits; what do you use to lubricate all the hinges/mechanical joints (any special oil or lubricant)?

I think I bought it from my Honda dealer, or some parts store online.. about $12 for a large tube (but it lasts a long time)...
Here is a link I found via google:

I haven't yet lubricated the hinges/joints and would also like to know what others recommend? Thanks!
