SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: New Chrysler Extended Warranty Plan Provider
Timeless, just did that same thing with my dealer on friday, took my car there to have my trunk (auto-close) fixed paid with my cc and got a call from dealer today telling me they received payment from Chrysler and they would credit my cc back the payment I made. Pat.
I can't seem to figure out if the plan will cover a G500 that I am considering buying and thats why I didn't input my information. It is older than 4 years old (2003) and has 62,000 miles. Would they cover that?
NoPaint, according to their plan description, the only plan that has a 60,000 mile limit is the 4 year / Unlimited plan. You should still be able to get the 1, 2, 3, or 5 year plans.

I am happy to say that this plan really is worth it. I just had the pump go out that controls the top and the locks and all. It even coverages a rental if needed. This repair would have been $900 with labor . So I the plan is well worth it.
Are they here to stay?
I've called 3 of the 4 MB dealerships in the greater D.C. area. I'm waiting for a call-back from #4. Two of the three service depts had never heard of the Chrysler warranty. The third noted that they had initially good experience, but had noted that since the financial meltdown of Chrysler Corp, they now must wait for extended periods of time to receive payment.
I also want an extended warranty, mostly for the "insurance" purpose, but want both a company that will be here, as well as will pay when required.
I've been searching these forums diligently. Why isn't there an entire "sticky" or sub-forum dedicated to warranty service???

I suspect this is a case of them trying to sell their warranty (twice as expensive). I had the Chrysler warranty on a Jeep (pre-meltdown) and it was flawless . Even if they pay after an extended period that is still payment. I would say you could pay on your own and get reimbursed through the warranty. I mean the government and Fiat are backing Chrysler so I personally have no fear and think I'll get this warranty if I get a Mercedes. We'll have to wait and see though.

Yes, yes, yes and Herb Gordon Mercedes-Benz in Silver Springs, MD. These guys were aware of the Chrysler warranty. They said it was good, but they had experienced a slow-down in payment processing during the "dark days". Appears to be in the past. These were the only guys who didn't particularly seem to push any provider.
Generally, I guess I'll be going with the Chrysler warranty. Generally the best price. The higher deductible also makes it a better deal. As the service guy at EuroMotors said, the deductible is tiny compared to the real costs of major servicing. I'll think of it as "normal" costs, with the warranty for the "Mercedes" costs.
I just finished having my inspection(s) done today. That, in itself, is good for peace of mind...
As Mr. Case neither returned my call nor answered my email, I decided to go with Chrysler directly, rather than through the broker.
Thus: As others have mentioned, Todd is definitely the man. He is clear and concise, and very pleasant to work with. His direct phone # is (313) 865-6237.
You can also use the toll-free: 1-800-442-2666. His extension has changed from #6781 to #6619. (A co-worker said that he's moving up!)
I am pleased to have the coverage, just as pleased if I don't need it.

I just bought a 5 year 70k mile warranty for a newly aquired E55 wagon with 30k miles from Todd and have to say, he is a great guy to deal with. If the customer service after the sale is half as good as Todd is, they have a customer for life in my wife and I! Check out his prices b/c he will for sure give great service!

There has been a lot of discussion regarding the Chrysler extended warranty plan. As a previous purchaser of two warranties from Chrysler I received an email from the Harold Zeigler Automotive Group who is selling Chrysler factory plans that cover all Merc's (including my CLKBS) and other cars for up to 60% off what a dealer will charge you. You don't have to visit the dealership or have your car inspected to receive an online quote. In my case I chose a 5 year, $100 deductible, 12K mile per year, full coverage plan for $1,750. The new car plan from Merc that I recently received (2 years, 75K miles) was $5,200. The web site is www.ChryslerFactoryPlans.Com. Fill out the info they ask for and you'll get a return online quote with options almost immediately.
I'm not affiliated or associated with them, just passing this along. Is this too good to be true?
