@shaw01,

Well, I'm glad to hear your choice. I will take probably also a different styled SLS. But we'll have to do it in the future with the white one.

The conceptdraws on the PC are sort of photo's how that guy, who draws it, thinks how the SLS gonna look like. But they are all wrong!

Again a update. On-Board video.

Here I've got a on-board video of the SLS AMG @ Nurburgring Nordschleife, Germany.

Enjoy.

What the **** Update (yet again) SLS eDrive

Well, now I got some bad news for the AMG 6.3 lovers... Mercedes comes with a electrical version of the SLS. So without the 571bhp 6.3 litre V8. My whole day is ruined by this thing... It gonna calls the SLS eDrive and gets a 530bhp electrical engine (2 battery's, but 1 powertrain).

Look at this

Neither am I, it the design language of the front looks out of date.

@L.A.448,

thanks for sharing those pictures! Really like it!

@AMG1,

the photo of the SLS (white one) is in not such a good quality, maybe all of you guys have a other opinion when you see it in real life. For now I think that the nose with it's long standing headlights maybe a little over-the-top is.

(I also want to say you've got some really hot cars!! Carrera GT , Maybach DBS !!! [one of my favourites] awesome!)

@MBTAZ,

thanks for sharing! There are many colors, leathers and finishes available for it. Maybe, if you want to personalize it more, you can choose for designo. That's the real unique thing.

SLS is super hot

...I guarantee all of you will fall in love when you see the SLS in the flesh or in proper photos.

Its a stunning car. Its not Retro, but merely an homage to a great automotive legend. It is a thoroughly modern car in every sense.

That white photo is a terrible shot of a brochure taken with a camera phone. The page is creased and the glare off the bonnett do the car no justice whatsoever.

Just wait...!!!

Have faith, my friend.

AMG got way too much riding on this car to screw it up.

Yeah man! That's what I'm talking about! I see you've already ordered your SLS . You see the most people don't like the SLS, because they're compare it with the original Gullwing. I personally, can't wait to see the first SLS on the road (or maybe at the dealership)

Thanks though for sharing pictures! The more pics, the better.

Yeah man, there are a lot of cars that I thought sucked hard until I saw them in the flesh, like the new Porsche panamera. I thought it looked awful in photos, and I withdrew my deposit. But last weekend I saw one at the Goodwood festival of speed, and it looked hot!! You really need to see a car in the flesh, or in moving video, to really appreciate it. I think its really harsh judgement by some people on this forum to condemn the SLS based on that one photo, which I admit does make it look a bit lame.

I had a long chat with Roland Geistlinger, head of marketing at AMG, on friday. I am going to the Frankfurt auto show in september, and I have been invited to a special preview of the SLS the day before the show starts!!
After talking with him, it became abundantly clear the passion everyone at AMG has towards this new car. It is the defining moment of their whole history.....the first totally AMG developed car with 100% AMG developed engine, not based on an existing MB product. This car cas been developed over the last 3 years and has covered 1 million kilometres in testing. This car will not fail. If youre a fan of AMG products,then youre gonna love it.

The styling is something which seemes to polarize opinion, with a lot of younger enthusiasts not liking it, but many older ones loving it. It is not a car like any other. Nothing like an SL65 AMG Black series, snarling and aggressive with its huge bodykit. The SLS is more of a throwback to how cars used to be.....simple....with the emphasis on the fun of driving.

Lets wait and see........

Thats some crazy paint technology. Check out this link

Im also toying with the idea of getting it in Matte Gray, which is also a special option colour....

@johnsamonas,

so you want it in Alu-Beam or the Matte Grey! Those colors look very hot man. What about a one-off. Then you have a SLS, who no one has... I think you made a great choice to buying such a cool car like this one

The red one from AMG Powerr pics looks best, that is what I mean by 'fluent'.Compare it with the other 3 pics and you will feel automatically that its 'right' ! Car design is all about 'yes' or 'no' The red one is a yes for sure. Why don't those 'deciders' in Germany listen to us, for a minute ?

@mf1,

it not used to be a modern copy of the 300SL, like the Mini Cooper, VW New Beetle and the Fiat 500 / Abarth 500. We have to do it with the "ugly" one, which, I think, it looks fantastic in real life.

I think that red one does look hot, in a way. But its like a beefed up SLK. There is no original design language on that vehicle.

whether you guys like it or not, wont make a difference, because people like me, who absolutely love it, will buy it,and this car will sell out fast...

Dont know about Alubeam. I also like the idea of Diamond White with natural brown leather seats!

This car is going to sh*t all over the SLR. According to Tobias Meiers, head of development at AMG, the SLS can do 0-124MPH in less than 10 secs (SLR 10.6). I have also heard that it can lap the Nordschleife in 7min35 (SLR 7min40)

Mercedes SLS to cost £155k

Mercedes has confirmed its SLS supercar will carry a price tag in the region of £155,000 when it goes on sale next year. That makes it significantly cheaper than its most obvious rival, the £193k Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano.

So you go on the classy tour with it. That's a nice combo. A lot of power, good handling, with a brute styling, and the class and luxury of an S-class

@MB_hunter,

that's good news, but I think that the rivals of the SLS the Gallardo LP560-4, Porsche 997 Turbo/GT2, maybe Aston Martin V12 Vantage, a ZO6/ZR1, 2011 Ferrari F450, Dodge Viper SRT10, Nissan GTR SpecV, or a Audi R8 V10 will be. But that's what I think...

£155k!! Its a realtive bargain compared to the SLR(£320k) and other competitors. Some of the options seem a bit overly priced though. $5k for carbon mirrors. WTF??
