Dyno graph after 180 pulley and cooler question
I hope this works, tried to attach the graph of the before and after results from an ecu tune and adding 180mm pulley. I have an 03 sl55 that doesn't have the twin intercoolers, only one, so obviously when they went to add the intercooler that came with the kit they couldn't. Anyone have ideas on what I can do to keep it from overheating with the new set-up? I did add the johnson pump, so hopefully that helps. Curious what people think of the results, feedback always appreciated. Needless to say, it is a new animal and loads of fun on the drive back from the shop. I got it done at Buckhead Imports and definitely recommend Jason, good guy and did a good job. Just need to find out about the intercooler issue.

thanks, I'd be curious to see how these compare to other people's results
max power from 423.2 to 467.1 and torque from 457.1 to 525.6, does the curve look appropriate?

when the car dyno'd 423 did you have any mod's? K&N's? Mileage on the car?
What was the temp outside at the time?
Those are STRONG numbers for a 100% stock 55 engine. Even in cold temps.

BenzoBoi- could you please give me some more info on that heat exchanger? New to the mods arena. There was a cooler that came with the kit, but they said it didn't fit b/c my 03' only has one instead of two smaller units? Just messing around tonight the temps get up around 100 pretty quick and definitely need to get them back down.
SFSL55- not stock, ecu and pulley upgrade and K&N, 35k on mileage

Your IAT's should be around 90-100f at idle. At full throttle they will climb to around 140f pretty fast. With a healthy IC pump it should fall quickly back down to around 100f.
I take it you have a scanner that shows you the temps?

Very strong numbers for stock and for a pulley mod. Make sure you get an upgraded heat exchanger and change our IC pump to a Johnson CM30 for consistent power and supercharger operation. Your car went from 516hp and 557ft-lbs of torque stock to 570hp and 640ft-lbs, seems to be a freakish SL.

thanks for all the great comments guys, my first SL, so nice to know the numbers look good to others and I know it feels great, I'll have to definitely get on the heat exchanger, seem that everyone thinks that is necessary to keep down the heat, I would imagine especially on track days

Is the heat exchanger made for the 03', my understanding is the setup is different than later years, and fab work needed?
