Reduction in power on SL55 after about 30 secs of full throttle
Hi there.
Im wondering if any of you guys know why after a short time of full throttle in my 55, my power drops right off...
I have to wait another minute or so before i get full power back again....
Any help would be greatly appreciated as its been in the dealership 3 times already and dont know whats up with it...

Classic signs of Intercooler Pump Failure. Suggest getting the Johnson CM30 Pump. With Installation. Around $ 250.00
What is happening is your Intake Air Temperature is exceeding the limit and the Supercharger is shutting down by releasing the S/C clutch until the temperature goes back down. This is caused by the lack of coolant
flow caused by the I/C pump not working properly.

Hi again. Thanks for the replies... So its the intercooler pump for the supercharger that needs replacing? Funny enough, ive just replaced the radiator as it had a very small leak so maybe this has damaged the pump....

The Factory pumps on the early model years are not as good as the newer models and the aftermarket Johnson CM30 will almost double the coolant flow. Also make sure all the air is out of the coolant lines around the pump.
