Soundtronic /Exhaust Valve
Hi there. Does anyone know how, or where you can get the modification to make the exhaust louder?? Is it a chip or a bit of pipe with a butterfly on it....?
Ive seen a few on YouTube and am interested in buying whatever it is to make my SL55 sound great!

it seems like some sort of exhaust bypass valve. here's a closeup of one:

you can build your own with minimal fabrication and one of these:

it's not a benz-specific or sl55-specific system... they're actually quite common on domestic v8's and hotrods, and can be custom fabricated for only a couple hundred bucks. try to search some domestic car forums for more info (and possibly some m3 forums - they're the only other european cars i've seen them on), since I doubt you'd find very much info about them here.
