Record acceleration run from 60-130, and look at data - IAT, Ignition advance, Airflow est. in lbs/min. and MAP pressure.
Like I said before, under cruise IAT will be about 80-90F above ambient. Under boost it should come down to around 20-30F above ambient.
I tried this last night, it never went below 148 and quickly climbed into the 180s. Outside temp was 82.Originally Posted by Vadim @ FD

IC cooling system needs to be bled.
It is PIA kind of procedure and in my experience most tech hate to do it.
Insist on it.
Good Luck!

I'll make sure they do when they install the CM30/rewiring, they almost have to. I went to have it done yesterday, but they didn't have a pump in stock. It's still stock now. I'm taking it to the dragstrip tonight for the first time since the work was finished, I'm curious to see how it does. 3 weeks ago 12 flat was my best time, but it was trapping in the 116s. Never could break into 117. Last August in worse DA it was in the 11s at 120.62.Originally Posted by Vadim @ FD

Make sure they understand that the car needs to be stone cold and the pump needs to run when they are bleeding the intercoolers. I use the MB vacuum bleeding tools and it still takes upwards of an hour sometimes.
Good luck,

I had runs with DAs as low as 1400ft and 71 deg as night fell, but those runs weren't any better than the earlier ones. My traps ranged from mid 116 to mid 117, except for that fluke 118. On 8/15/08 I was trapping mid 119 to mid 120. Higher DA ~500ft and temperatures +5 deg.
I datalogged most of my runs and IAT was hitting low-mid 170s at the end of the run.

Sounds to me like its time for you to have someone who knows what they are doing take a long hard look at the car. I personally don't think everything is right on it.

That isn't too shabby to crack into the 11's on street tires ...on a 2500' DA run. It just makes it that much more amazing what you accomplished last year. The traps do look a bit low even for that DA. Last summer with just BMC drop-in filters and CM030 pump, my car never dropped below 118mph in similar DA (and my car weighs 200lbs more).
It seems like your car is really falling down after the 1/8 mile. What were your 1/8 mile traps last year? I bet they are within 1 mph of your current runs. This would be consistent with your I/C problems.

It was 8/15/08. I ran a 12.304 @ 120.62 DA 2081.9 78.8 deg. I remember I was mad because they didn't prep the track and I was slipping and sliding all over. My 1/8 mile traps are about the same as my 118 run on Friday. I don't have the slip in front of me, but they do keep limited data on each run on the tracks website. I had 3 runs over 120 that day.Originally Posted by TMC M5

If anyone is curious you can go to http://www.texasmotorplex.com Go to Events at top and Live Timing history. Pick a date and series (Test & Tune), I was car 505 on 8/28/09. Previous races you have to have a subscription to see all data.
