All the info on a 2005 SL65 as possible...considering a purchase

Okay....i just took a look at a 2005 SL65 with 48k on the clock. I am not very educated about this particular model at all.... i am totally fresh as i don't know the standard feature vs the optional equipment. I also need the pro's vs con's for this model/year combo.

All i know for now is that it is a pretty clean car and its pretty f**kin fast.

although i don't know if it running 100%....it feels fast and everything but i just have this gut feeling like something is wrong. how can i be for sure ?

i do also know that it comes with an extended warranty untill 2012 with no deductible, im not sure if its from mercedes benz but i think so.

while im on the warranty subject i think we are going to have to take advantage of the service because while i was driving this machine the ABC WARNING light came on indicating to stop that the car was to low.(wtf?)

ok guys please help me out thanks in advance.

Try to get a maintenance history on the car. Are you buying from an MB dealer? If not get it inspected by a MB dealer on their dime. Get a written inspection with their estimate on what is left on the brakes. Replacing front and rear rotors and pads is a big $ item.

The car shouldn't be throwing codes like that. Make sure that you have written proof that the extended warranty includes ABC items. That is another big $ item.

It sounds like a good deal. But if you don't do your due diligence on the warranty and maintenance, it can easily be a bad deal. The brakes and ABC can easily be $10K...in which case you could have bought a lower mileage car for that amount of money...

In the 18 months of ownership I have spent about $6K on brakes, oil changes and Service A and B.
