Several MB's Superperformance MK III Cobra
Whine from engine compartment
Recently my SL55 has developed a whine from the engine when the key is turned on (thecar has not been started). Likewise when the engine is turned off the whine continues for approximately 10 to 15 seconds. Has anyone else experienced this?

I think mine has always done this or at least started to as well. Seems like it comes from the right part of the hood, same type of time length, hopefully we get an answer here!

Yes it is from the right side. I checked with a service tech today and he said that it is the electronics on the water pump that will do it when starting and when shutting down. He also said that it is normal.
