Just installed the smart top module
I just finished installing the smart top module, and all I have to say is DAAAAAMMMMMMNNNNNN!!!!
This is the way the top should have worked from the factory.
As for the installation, it was pretty straight forward except that pesky ground wire.
For someone who is installing their smart top for the 1st time, I would suggest you make a ground wire. The method the instructions show are a P.I.T.A.
You do this by taking 6inches of 10 or 12 guage wire stripping the end and attaching an eye connector that has a 1/4 inch opening.
Then take one of the blue taps that is provided with the module and clamp it 1/8th of an inch from the other end of the wire.
Next put the eye connector over the bolt that isn't connected to the brown wire with the white stripe (it is pretty obvious when you open the fuse box)and put a 1/4 inch bolt on top and tighten with your fingers.
Presto You have a ground wire.
Once that is done, the instructions with the module are as advertised.
