SL 55 Shock absorber replacement
My local MB mechanic indicated that I need a new front shock for my SL 55.
It was not sitting properly on the mount which caused it to leak and resulted in uneven wear on the front tire. He quoted me a price of $1200. for a rebuilt one. Just wanted to check to see if that is a fair price. If so, the high price for replacement parts is one of the main reasons why the resale value of these great cars continue to drop as they get older.

Not a bad price if that includes install. I have seen up to 2200 for strut and install.. About 10K for all four..Ouch!
I had a new front ABC strut put on and it was 1800 out the door, plus I got a 82MM TB off a junk motor thrown in.. That was a sweet deal!
