That pesky Trailblazer SS pulls another Flyby on my A$$... Dammit
So I broke out the SL55 for a short ride last Saturday. The air temperature was nearly 50 and I hadn’t driven it since the first week of December. Before long, I’m sitting at a stop light when that familiar Black Trailblazer SS pulls up behind me. The one that loves to rip past me every time he sees me. Although he has pulled four or five flybys on my ***, never once has he attempted to set up for a proper run. Is this finally my chance to show him what he is messing with? Should I go to WOT on green? I’m thinking probably not because it’s damp and cool. The last thing I need is to get walked because my T1Rs struggle for grip in the poor conditions. The light turns green and I pull out slowly. The Blazer opens a two car gap between us and then mashes the throttle and goes screaming past me. I knew it, but still thought I made the right decision.
I’m pretty sure this guy is stock. His exhaust note although nice doesn’t seem aggressive enough to be modded, but I could be wrong. According to Dragtimes, a stocker SS runs low 13s. That is fast and very respectable for an big SUV, but come on, does he think he is quicker than the SL? Maybe he roasted an SLK 320 and thinks my car has the same quicks. One of these days, just maybe, I will take the long way home from work (through Mexico) and be fortunate enough to pull up next to him at a light.

LOL if you weren't going to race you should've done the classic trick:
Rev your engine and when it turns green just let him flyby lol.
Even if you floored it and you spun out your 60' would still be better than his since your still in motion when tires spin...

There are a number of SLK230s around that may have tried to run the TrailBlazer and I'm sure he would have taken them. Their are two SLK230 runs on dragtimes. Both are over 14 seconds.

Just lure TB boy onto a nice twisty back road and humiliate him.
But just remember, he drove home in a TB, and you in an SL55!

Yeah the street time was great and the little encounter with the TBSS got my blood pumping. I got caught sitting in the SL while it was in the garage a couple of weeks ago by my wife so I obviously needed to drive it. She asked me if I was sitting in it because I miss it so much. I said something lame like I was changing the clock back to daylight saving time because we will go back on DST before I will be driving the car again and I wanted to be prepared. She replied with a sarcastic “good answer… Not.” At least I haven’t gotten caught telling the SL goodnight yet.![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

LOL.
I hear you. Worst part about owning an SL in a northern climate is the separation anxiety on snow days.

We do accept certain transfers to the State of Florida if you are under 80 - unfortunatley, there are a good portion of these people that are not qualified to make ice and therefore tend to bring the overal IQ and gene-pool down...
