SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: Should I feel Bad??
As I have not needed to use them for my 2006 Range Rover just yet, I have used the hell out of them for both the CL55 and the SL55.
On the SL alone they have paid for a ABC pump, IC pump, two rear shocks, two pulleys, valve cover gasket, valve block for the ABC suspension, fuel tank and a few sensors here and there with a total of about $12000 in parts alone not to mention the labor cost.
On the CL they paid for a ABC pump, one right rear shock, IC pump, and a seat and airbag sensor totaling about $4000 in parts alone.
I guess it's obvious that I don't drive the CL much, she pretty much Justs sits in the garage and I really am contemplating on trading her in for a S550 w/ sport package. It has to have the sport package if I don't buy the S63.
Anyway, I have spent $15K for all three extended warranties and they have paid out at least $16000 in parts alone. Man, do you think that they underestimated the issues that come about with AMG's? Can anyone educate me on how warranty companies look at situations such as these and how it impacts them financially? I bet that they will not extend my warranty when it is time to renew, hmmm. I guess it will be time to trade the SL55 for a SL65 in two more years.
Chuck.
